Harpole boasts three public houses: The Bull, located on the High Street; The Live and Let Live, located on Larkhall Lane; and the Turnpike or Beefeater, located at the Harpole Turn from the A4500 road). Harpole hosts a scarecrow weekend in September, during which thousands of visitors enjoy the views of the historic village.

Neighbourhood Plan

In common with many Parish Councils, Harpole has a Neighbourhood Plan. A local referendum was held in Harpole on 27 July 2017 to decide whether the local community was in favour of the Plan. More than 50% of those who voted, voted ‘Yes’ in response to this question. South Northamptonshire Council has assessed that the plan, including its preparation, does not breach, and would not otherwise be incompatible with, any EU obligation or any of the Convention rights (within the meaning of the Human Rights Act 1998).  In accordance with the Regulations, Harpole Neighbourhood Plan is ‘made’ and planning applications in the parish must be considered against the Harpole Neighbourhood Development Plan, as well as existing planning policy documents.
