Women's Institute

Harpole WI was formed in 1962, having been started by Mrs. Church of Grange Farm. Harpole WI is a member of the Northamptonshire Federation of Women’s Institutes, which is part of the National Federation of Women's Institutes.

Forget the stereotype WI lady - our members are modern women, who enjoy socialising at our monthly meetings. We organise a wide variety of events each year that try to offer something for everyone and we welcome the company of visitors at any of them. We find the WI gives us the opportunity to learn a wide range of new skills, i.e., abseiling, archery, cooking and many more. We also take part in other activities including walking, darts, skittles, table tennis, scrabble, curling and croquet at the Northamptonshire Croquet Club.

We meet at the Old School Hall on the second Monday of the month starting at 7:30 pm.

You are welcome to come along to any of our meetings as a visitor and see what we are all about. Come on your own or bring a friend - we won't pressurise you into becoming a member, although of course we hope that you will want to. Most meetings comprise of a short update on current business and a guest speaker, followed by coffee and biscuits and the chance to catch up with fellow members.

We have a membership of about 40 and visitors are most welcome. The annual membership fee is £39.00 (from which both National and Northamptonshire Federations take a share) and if you are interested in becoming a member, please contact:-
